Where does the trip begin?
At Boncuk Bay, 2 km east of Sedir Island.
What are the highlights of this trip?
We will paddle through ancient coasts of Gökova. Visit ancient ruins of Carias'. We also are provided with an outstanding lunch of Azmakbasi Restaurant by the Gelibolu Creek. Snorkelling in Gelibolu Cave.
What is the difficulty level?
Easy and we do not stray far from the shore. If the day is particularly windy, we paddle in the same direction with the wind, our guests must prepare themselves for paddling over higher waves.
Who can participate?
Anyone in relatively good physical shape, who can swim and who does not possess medical problems, and who has a desire to experience a different side of Aegean Coast, via the sea!
Program Details
We leave every Tuesday (09:00 am) from May to October, with a minimum of 3 participants, from Akyaka to Boncuk Bay where we give our safety talk and start tour. After basic instruction and an introduction to the equipment we'll be using, we begin paddling, visiting Sedir Island (4 km) explore the islan on foot, visit ancient ruins. Carry on to Gelibolu Creek (4.5 km). Paddle upstream for 300 m and stop for lunch served by Azmakbasi Restaurant (best of best local restaurant). Paddle to snorkelling point by Gelibujlu Cave (2 km). On the way to Akyaka (10.5 km) stop by rocks to jump. (Total route=21 km)
What to bring
Sport shoes or sandals that can get wet, swimsuit/shorts, sun protection (hat, sun screen ect.), sun glasses, camera (Do not worry if there is no camera, we will give your digi-pics at the end of the trip.)
